RightNOW Women demonstrates strong show of support in Cleveland

Bourbon & Blooms Event was an incredible success

 July 24, 2016

Cleveland, Ohio – RightNOW Women PAC is proud to announce that our “Bourbon & Blooms” event at the Republican convention in Cleveland was an astounding success.

Members, supporters, and special guests arrived on Tuesday evening at a real-life donut shop to be escorted through the faux industrial kitchen door to find themselves inside of Cleveland’s newest club, Magnolia. Guests mingled around a larger-than-life metal magnolia tree with the dee-jay and two bars, while some enjoyed the outdoor patio on a beautiful summer night.

Wearing RightNOW Women PAC pins, guests were eager to talk about the importance of supporting women candidates.

“The more voices we can engage in our political process, the better the outcome, and that’s why we need more women to participate at every level whether as a volunteer or a candidate for elected office,” said Representative Brooks (IN-5), who was in attendance. “Seeing so many women here in Cleveland who are excited to participate in the process is very encouraging, and I hope events like this one will encourage even more women to consider public service and add their voice, their experiences and their expertise to the national conversation. Our country and our party will be stronger for it."

Also in attendance were Rep. Greg Walden (R-OR), NRCC Chairman Rep. Bill Johnson (R-OH), Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), and Candidate Denise Gitsham running in San Diego’s CA-52 district.

“We had an amazing turnout and every dollar we raised will go towards women candidates running in 2016,” stated April Canter, RightNOW Women Event Chair. “This is such an important time to be making this bold show of support for RightNOW’s mission to engage more women in the political process. This event allowed us to not just fundraise but to grow our community and celebrate Republican women.”

RightNOW would like to thank our all of our official PAC sponsors as well as our individual sponsors –  Sarah Belknap, Elizabeth Rojas Levi, Mallory Mullen, Noelle Verhelst, Tiffany Waddell, Libby Wuller, and Sue Zoldak. A special thanks to our event volunteers – Atalie Abersole, Sarah Belknap, Maddie Davidson, Ryan Evans, Sydney Jordaan, Christian LaBella, and Larissa Martinez.

“We are grateful to our PAC donors, sponsors, and each and every individual donor. We are excited to increase our support to Republican women running in key races across the country,” said Patty Stolnacker Koch, RightNOW Women Treasurer. “We hope to be able to endorse even more candidates as a result of our Bourbon & Blooms event.”

RightNOW Women recently endorsed women candidates for Congress, Denise Gitsham for California’s 52nd, Tonia Khouri for Illinois’ 11th, and Claudia Tenney for New York’s 22nd. We endorsed earlier this year Kathy Szeliga (MD) and Sen. Kelly Ayotte (NH) for their Senate races. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-5), Rep. Elise Stefanik (NY-21), Lori Bartley (TX-18), Rep. Jackie Walorski (IN-2), Rep. Barbara Comstock (VA-10), and Rep. Susan Brooks (IN-5) received support for their House races. RightNOW Women has proudly endorsed Rep. Stefanik and Rep. Comstock in every race since they’ve pursued federal office.
