WASHINGTON – RightNOW Women PAC (RNWP) is proud to announce our full support behind six candidates for the 2016 election season – two U.S. Senators, three U.S. Representatives and one rising star competing for the open seat in Indiana’s 9th federal congressional district. RNWP previewed this announcement via its new Instagram account, showcasing an inside look at modern Republican politics.

“We are excited to throw our full support behind Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA-10), Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ-02) and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21), as well as Indiana State Sen. Erin Houchin. These RightNOW Women champions are outstanding, strong Republican leaders that are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and fight for the issues that matter to women and men,” said RightNOW Women spokesperson Walter Torres. “They have shown their support behind our mission on countless occasions and are representative of what Congress, our country and our future leaders need.”

Sen. Kelly Ayotte and Sen. Lisa Murkowski are considered two of the most influential Republican women leaders in the U.S. Senate. Both Senators currently serve and hold leadership ranks in high-profile committees. Rep. Comstock, Rep. McSally and Rep. Stefanik are all freshmen members of Congress but have already given Washington a taste of what to expect from our future leaders: bold and positive change. These members are no strangers to RightNOW Women PAC and our goals, having attended many RightNOW Women events in person.

“I’m honored by this support and eager to continue my efforts to encourage more young women to run for office and serve as leaders for their communities and our country,” said Sen. Ayotte. “As New Hampshire’s first female Attorney General and now as a US Senator, I understand the challenges that women often face when getting involved in public service, especially when they're trying to balance work and family. Women bring an important perspective to public service, and our experiences help make us effective at making a difference, solving problems and improving our quality of life.”

"I am proud to have the support of this organization committed to encouraging young women to embrace leadership roles in their communities, schools, and workplaces," said Rep. Comstock. "Working with other professional women, I was inspired to start my District's Young Women Leadership program, so that our girls and young women can build confidence in seeking leadership roles. Like RightNOW Women, I am committed to promoting opportunities to build our future generation of leaders."

"I want to thank Right Now Women PAC for their endorsement,” said Rep. McSally. “Working to ensure well qualified Republican women are elected is a worthwhile mission and one I support."

“Women are consensus builders that offer unique perspectives that we need urgently in Congress,” said Rep. Stefanik. “That's why the important work of RightNOW PAC can't be understated. Of the 10,000 people who have served in Congress, only 300 have been women - 100 of those are serving now. That 0.03% is unacceptable for a constituency that is not merely a coalition, but a majority of voters in our country. With RightNOW PAC supporting strong women leaders, we will continue moving in the right direction to change that."

RightNOW Women PAC has also endorsed Indiana State Senator, Erin Houchin, who is running for Rep. Todd Young’s open seat in Indiana’s 9th congressional district. Houchin is an Indiana native, who has dedicated her life to public service in order to further improve education and spur job growth in her district by supporting small businesses and keeping taxes low. Her successful track record in improving the quality of life in her district shows her commitment to her constituents. Houchin also has a history in grassroots involvement and has a passion for educating future Republican leaders.

“In a contested primary, it is especially important to have the support of other strong Republican women,” said Houchin. “We have to get out front for one another if we are going to increase our footprint in our Statehouses, and the U.S. Capitol. Our governance can only be improved by adding more women and their unique perspectives, experiences, ideas and solutions to the dialogue."

In addition to the exciting announcement of our first endorsements for the 2016 election season, we would like to also announce the launch of the official RightNOW Women PAC Instagram account. Through our latest digital effort, we will continue to engage with young professionals and further strengthen our voice to help support and elect qualified women to federal office—behind the scenes at RightNOW Women, out in front championing women candidates.
